N.J. mayor directed police to keep Black people out of town, state says in shocking lawsuit.

Clark’s former mayor and police force are accused of discriminating against minorities in a new lawsuit filed by the Attorney General’s office in state Superior Court.
Officials accused Clark Township and police department leadership of instructing officers to “keep Black people out of Clark” and directed officers to adopt policing practices designed to accomplish this goal.
Officials said that the discriminatory conduct was “aided and abetted by leadership within the township with oversight and management responsibilities over (Clark Police Department).”
